The Minister of Public Works Director, Felipe López, has advanced today that the Andalusian Government will reactivate throughout 2016 new public work amounting to 203 million Euros, which will be an “opportunity for construction companies, for employment and, once finalized, to put them to the service of the economic development of the community “. Among the companies that will see the work restart is Detea, an Andalusian construction company, whose new headquarters has been visited today by the Director and who has highlighted “its talent and effort to keep going in difficult times.”

Among the work to be restarted, the director referred to the widening of the A-392 Alcalá de Guadaíra-Dos Hermanas highway, a 7-kilometer long project, with an awarded budget of 28.66 million Euros, of which 8.9 million (31%) have already been; The Ronda Urbana Sur of Mairena del Aljarafe, the widening of the Vera-Garrucha road and the Linares-Vadollano rail connection, among other works located in different places of Andalusia. In this reactivation, he has explained that they are prioritizing those works that presented a high level of execution or the socioeconomic impact of such infrastructure.

“It is a set of works that had to be paused and can be continued today, generating opportunity for the companies and, with that, creating employment”, has underlined Felipe López, who has recognized the work that develops the Andalusian Government to “be Ambitious as well as realistic, and use all the tools we have at our disposal to promote the economic growth of our community.

Likewise, he has referred to Detea, who has exalted its “talent, effort and innovation” as the best characteristics “for these early stages of recovery, where Andalusia is in the front line”, not only in infrastructure, has clarified the Director, but also in housing and in the logistics sector.

“The adjustment has been tough for everyone,” he has recognized and made reference to the loss of employment in construction, “because in the first quarter of 2008 we counted with 480,000 jobs in the sector; in 2015 we situated at 145,000 and in the first quarter of this year the recovery with 147,000 jobs is already noticeable “. However, he assures that “by having courage and making an effort we will reach a new panorama with a different horizon”.
